Okay so, the title pretty much explains it all but before I get someone in here saying "you're pregnant" I am not pregnant.

My periods fluctuate a lot, sometimes I won't get them for a long while then they'll be regular for while or sometimes they'll be really heavy and then they'll go again for a while so I definitely do not have the most normal menstrual cycle (obviously).

I'm going to go to the doctor (when I can bloody get in) eventually but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to what it could be?

I thought it could be PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) because I have other symptoms agreeing with that possibility. If anyone has PCOS could they give me any information about that would be helpful.

Have you lost body weight? Being underweight can shut down the female reproductive system.

As the person above says, have you lost a lot of weight recently? Or been under a lot of stress?
Also how old are you and how long have you had your period for?
I had the same thing last year, it disappeared for 7 months completely randomly then came back so don't worry too much.

    I wish! But no, I haven't.

I've been under stress but it's always been like this even when I haven't been under stress. I'm 21 and I've had it since I was 15

You should really go to the doctors and they'll ask you if you've been stressed and sexually active as certain STD's can mess up your periods (not saying that you have one just what I got asked when I went)

When I went I had a blood test to test for diabetes, my thyroid and hormone levels.

    Good luck
