It's perfectly natural, I've lost sleep before exams too.

All great suggestions here. I deal with this too and find fresh air and some exercise really helps- if you're physically tired it can make a big difference. I find yoga helpful too, a gentle bedtime one- I love Yoga with Adriene on YouTube for that but maybe test that out in advance rather than learning a new skill when it's bedtime.
Also, following the same routine can help to to tell your brain it's time to sleep. And try (and tbh I haven't mastered this one yet) not to calculate how much sleep you're going to get if you fall asleep now, the pressure/worrying about being tired makes it much worse
