Hello, I plan to study at KCL in september and am trying to sort out a transfer with my current job, but it's quite competitive (even though it's only a supermarket checkout job in waitrose) and I'm worried about living in London without a part time job to support my student loan (which is only £5600). I want term time work only as I live 3 hours away and I'd like to be able to go home at christmas etc. How should I go about finding term time work? Is it easier as a casual waitress or what? I'd like to sort it before I go so I worry less! I'm not concerned about workload/job as I've done it for 2 years already when at college

For King's you can consider working for the SU: http://www.kclsu.org/studentjobs/ They tend to have jobs before freshers, just after Christmas and for the summer period (that's when they recruit).

In addition, you can also have a look at direct temping (for King's ) However they tend to take people from second year onwards.
