I'm sure they don't check or care if you're watching porn :P haha.

They keep a check on how much your using, and have automatic systems to pick up torrenting, but you can still use illegal websites like putlocker to watch things.

You answered the other question i was going to ask as well  thanks! I'll probs just watch on sites rather than download anyway but i might bring up sharing a Netflix account with my 3 other flatmates.
If you're worried about the cost, just find a friend, family member or flatmate that also wants Netflix. You can have up to 3 extra people so the cost could be around £2-£4 a month instead.

No, do you people not know what a torrent is? Or what a warez site is? I download every single American tv show I want to watch within 24 hours after it airs in the US. Only a mug pays for TV shows.

Shut the hell up. These 'mugs' are what keep the shows from being able to continue airing and improving, from the income. In result ****** like me are able to torrent these decent shows and watch them for free trolol

uhhh...how much of your internet use do they see? :colondollar:

This all depends on your uni. I know lots of people in halls that downloaded a few torrents and the uni never picked up on it. It would be things like 4 seasons of Game of Thrones and movies. I would do some digging around to find out if that happens a lot in the halls/university you're staying in.

That's a good idea, thanks for the tip!

Good luck getting away with hundreds of gigabytes of torrents a year in uni dorms.

The uni will disable your account if you torrent. They know.

Stick to warez sites then if you download that much.

When you wanna watch something, you'll watch it and forget about limiting yourself. It's worth paying for Netflix at uni realistically.

A decent uni is going to monitor traffic to file sharing websites and known warez websites, so you'll be caught after a while.

It's not worth the risk, the OP said he watches a fair bit and would probably be caught.

This is what I'm going to do at uni. There's **** all on TV nowadays whereas I watch loads of netflix and even though its £80 odd for a year, thats cheaper than a TV license. I hardly ever watch live TV so I can use catch up services on my laptop or xbox when a show isn't live.
