Travel Grant for Year Abroad

Hi there,

I have seen responses to variations on this query, but wanted to ask myself for clarification.

The travel grant factsheet indicates that I can claim back up to three return journeys. I know the outward leg of my journey, but as of yet do not know when I will be returning to the UK, or where from; it could be that I return from a different airport than that which I flew to.

Is it possible, therefore, to claim back the cost of two single flight tickets (together counting as one return "journey"), or do I have to have booked a return ticket when I book my outwards journey?
