Contact Lenses

How do I know if my contact lenses are inside out? will they just not sit right in my eyes? will my vision be all blurry? I took them out a minute ago and my eyes were watering soo much that i just put them into the little pots without looking!
thanks

you have to put the contact lense on ur finger (like u would do if you were putting them in) and then look at the top (the rim) if it curving outwards then they're in side out if it's going slightly inwards then its right! hopefully u've understood wat i jus said.. LOL
Were you not taught how you can tell?

My old lenses had a 123 on them that had to be a certain way for me to know they weren't inside out.

My new lenses don't have this but you can usually tell by the shape of the lens when on your finger.

Just found this:

The lens will go in your eye both ways but if the wrong side is inserted the lens will feel uncomfortable and may even pop out.

Hope this helps a little.

It stings like a biatch if it's in inside out...

Yeh you have to look at how they curve, what tajoo said. Or try gently bringing the edges to the middle. If it's the right way they meet easily.

if they're inside out they'll look like a outwardly rimmed bowl and it just won't look right. plus they'll feel uncomfortable if you stick them in inside out.
if inside out when in ur eye,you will see blurry images and will feel uncomfertable.
btw where is the 123 number,i;v looked and looked for mine but can't find them.
tesh^^

Not all of them have the number.
They will sting your eyes if they are in the wrong way round or at least feel quite uncomfortable

there was one way that i used to be able to tell that they were inside out, they aren't rounded when you sit them on your finger, they're kinda.. i dunno how to explain it, edge off?

if they irritate your eyes like that maybe they're not clean.
have you got monthlies or dailies?
dailies personally, are heaps better because when they irritate you can just throw em away and get a new pair, where as if monthly ones are annoying your eyes you can easily get an infection.. and its not nice (not that i've had one and i've been wearing dailies since i was 12).

so yeah maybe they're not clean.

if they're inside out they usually just irritate your eye, not make em tear.

What she said

Has anyone ever put both lenses in the same eye? You have like....too strong vision, but when you take it out only the top one comes off. Clever
You should be able to tell when it's on your finger.

If mine are inside out on my finger, they may pop back to the right side. And if I put one in my eye inside out, it will fall out more than likely.

Although I was told most of this when I got them.

I never know which way round they are. I find often you're vision is better if they're the right way round (yes, I know it's an obvious thing to say....)
MikeyB!

Too right.
Ha! I've never noticed if they were in inside out and they definitely have been before. Oh well.
When I learnt how to put mine in, I was told that it had to look a bit like an upside down flying saucer and that's how you knew whether it was the right way out.

I tried to figure out how to tell by looking at the shape of them but I just got all confused and in the end I found a tiny number printed on them and found that is the easiest way to tell because what you're reading is in black and white!
If you have a number it will be printed so that its the right way if you put your lense on your finger and hold it up to the ceiling so you're looking at the side. If the numbers are printed backwards then its inside out. It has happened a few times and that is always the way I tell.

I think sometimes it's not so easy to tell when you just have it on your fingertip. If it feels uncomfortable in your eye, it's definitely a sign that it might not be in the right way.

But a way that always works for me is when you put it in your eye, just look in a mirror and pull your lower eyelid down. If the lens sort of slides down too much from where it was... then it's inside out.

That might not work for you, but give it a try.

i have really bad vision so it took me ages when i was looking at shape to get them in right, but now look at the top edge if its curves out its inside out, curves more inwards its right. But when you get it in your eye its really uncomfortable inside out.
