Derhill for me. Does anyone know how these Westwood buildings are set out .. how many floors/corridors/rooms per corridor...? is D1.11 on the bottom floor? I wanted a bit more of a view lol

westwood is set out either in blocks or floors.
i think derhill is floors; so d1.11 is room 11, floor 1. iw as in quantock q1.18 which was in blocks; so block 1, room 18 (which was right at the top).

and its connie-gree for conygre!

i imagine youre right; i really dont know! cotswold was right of quantock (if youre looking at the front of them; from the road). sounds right if so; then all of the ones to the left of conygre (which is left of quantock) would be floors; the ones right of (and including) conygre are blocks.
Conygre Y4.01 how do i translate this ? 4th floor room 1 ?

what about Quarry Terrace, R1.01 ? 1st floor room 1 ?

are they both westwood ??

thanks

no no. conygre is blocks; so block 2 , room 10; about halfway up.
quarry is floors; so first floor, room 1.
im being dumb - how do blocks work in comparison to floors?? x

So would room 4 be on the ground floor?

OK guys, I'm gunna help you all out... (2nd Year Bath now)

Cotswold, Derhill, Quantok, Conygre are in 'Blocks' that means when you arrive you'll see Derhill 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (same for others too). When you are given your accom it's listed as, say, D3.14 that means you are in Derhill block 3 in room 14 which is a few flights upstairs (same goes for others).

Quarry, Mendip and Wolfston go in floors so Q2.20 is Second floor (1 being ground floor) of Quarry in room 20.

Hope this helps, I'm kitchen crew for Cotswold 4 as i lived there last year! Hope to see some of you, otherwise enjoy your time at Bath!

ok... here's a layout of an old quantock (and presumably conygre, durhill and cotswald) house:
(nb quantock has now changed)
the floors are split in staggered layers... with front on the left in this:

17,18,19...............
............16, kitchen
13,14,15..............
............12, small kitchen, 11
8,9,10.................
............6(studio),7
3,4,5..................
............2,1
kitchen...............

Hope that makes sense. Looking at the front of the building the rooms are numbered left to right on that diagram (back rooms are numbered right to left).

Rooms are similar size but back rooms have the door in the middle of a long side wall, while front rooms have the door at the opposite end to the window.

In quantock the middle kitchen (and possibly one or more rooms) have been removed to fit bathrooms. If rooms have been removed then the numbers have probably changed too.

Hope this helps
are the room structures all the same ???

Cotswold, Derhill, Quantok, Conygre, Quarry, Mendip and Wolfston ??

Thanks

Ah shibby! If that's true about Derhill I'd be next to a small kitchen.. room 11 ... that's made my day.

How do youse all know which blocks are what? Can't find any info on the bath site.

They probably know from reading what people who lived in the houses last year posted on this thread. Your accomodation letter will tell u a building. Then:

Conygre, Cotswald and Derhill are the vertical houses
Wolfson, Mendip and Quarry are the corridor buildings
Quantock is vertical houses but a new design
