yep and you divide that by the amount of GCSEs you have. Its not really a very accurate way of measuring it though.

I got 5 C's and 3 D's whatever that is.

My average was 7.2 or 7.3, something like that.

3 A*
4 A
1 B
3 C
It is your average GCSE Grade, points wise.

It isn't bad, but not perfect by all means. i.e.) It is harder to do loads of GCSE'S (in saying that, doing loads does you no favours, so in that respect the calc.is pretty good)

slightly impossible, seeing as the most you can get is 8. slightly flawed system though. person gets 5 gcses all at a* and gets as many points as person doing 11 gcses all at a*

6 As + 4 Bs / 10 = 6.6  We call it APS (average points score).
i think i had 7.8 or something but did do 12 GCSEs so taking the average isnt really a good way
7.6 (6A*'s, 4A's)

Yes, that's it.

TBH, what school has used this for their kids? I thought it was just a made up thing someone devised.

I don't see how that is possible, considering 100% A*'s only gets you 8 points.

I should have had more if only I passed Maths and English at grade C. Bloody school.
