I wrote a similar essay this morning (part B of the June 2002 synoptic paper). Which extracts are you using?

I haven't done a synoptic unit before so I have no idea whether what I did was right. I started off by saying that the difference between the extracts and their style, subject matter and opinions of warfare suggests that typical WW1 literature doesn't exist, but simlar themes can be identified. I then took some of the themes and elaborated on them by comparing various aspects of the extracts and integrating other WW1 literature I have read and could remember. I concluded in a very lame and pathetic way and haven't re-read, but I think it's an okay piece of work.

Ah dinner time for me. Good luck!
