Scar removal

Just a question about scarring. I have a fair few scars across my body from self-harming many years ago. I've been informed I can't get these removed on the NHS, and private laser removal is expensive.

And, after becoming a little self-conscious about them lately.. what would happen if... I sanded them off? Like until I got down to blood.

Came up with the idea after when playing football on hard soil, sliding around, my legs quite often go down to blood & flesh.. after a few weeks the skin grows back, good as new, would it do the same on my arms and torso?

Any med students opinions would be appreciated  Cheers

Umm...it'd be scar tissue that grew back, so you'd be left with the same problem surely?

Aside from that, it's a really ****ing stupid idea to sand any part of your body down to blood, isn't it.
