I do see a point in that I don't see why it should make a difference. I mean I've got good mates at uni and from home who are asian and not asian.
Then again I suppose ethnicity is a unifying factor I mean if I was going to Uni in another country finding people of a similar background but if your a naturalised citizen then it making much of a difference.
crayzee - no disrespect to you mate, Its interesting speaking to guys from different backgrounds. There are loads of asian guys at U. of Leics 3 of my best mates down there are indian and I'm sure there will be loads of cool and diverse people at DMU

I agree on all counts. It's just threads like this, like "hay guyz, wazzup? lol!" Couple that with what you said in your first point - why does it even matter, we're all meant to get on, right? - and I dunno, it's just a pet hate.

I wouldn't worry about finding asians in leics, they're EVERYWHERE! (myself included - though i'm escaping this place ) And i'd hate to generalise, but i'd say that circa 50% of all asians in Leicester speak in the same 'ghetto' language that you spoke in your first post; so you won't be a fish out of water or anything, quite the opposite!

Gah, I'm half oriental (So I guess that classes me as Asian), and I cannot stand this whole ghetto speak, it gets on my wick.
Anyway, I don't look at anybody and think he has a different skin colour to me, that is just petty. Everyone is equal and I hope to mix with many nationalities.
