Tours

Hi

I am looking to do some travelling next summer and I have been looking at the tours available on STA, realgap, G adventures, contki.
but they all seem quite expensive.
Does anyone know of anymore reasonable alternatives?

Why not go it alone, without using a tour operator? Where are you thinking of going?

Do what Bill Bryson did. Hire a car and just drive around staying in motels you come across. You will experience the real USA outside of the touristy areas. If you don't like the motel idea, do a camper van or a tent or one of those motor homes. Take some friends and it will be a fantastic adventure.
I havnt been North America but considering it's a very safe country I would definetely recommend just buying flights and doing the rest yourself ... You will save a lot of money and you can be as flexible as you want :smile:
