Don't expect much from the open day... I went last year and they didn't show me the halls, but I had a lovely view of the chapel  had to psychically ask to be shown the halls

hello seeing as nobody apart from me seems to be going to the open day can anybody who is already there tell me what Lampeter is really like (you can be as honest as you want lol) especially the history department. Also what is the accommodation like and are there any catered rooms? xxx

the other thread on lampeter has a lot of info which i have put into it.

what do you mean what is it like?
in general, its pretty quiet, kinda claustrophobic and has lots of weirdos. however, i wouldnt change uni for the world!

my gf does history and doesnt have any complaints (that i know of) with the department.

most accommodation is pretty shoddy, but not unlivable. there are no catered rooms there are a few nice halls, but as you are through clearing (like me) you wont get those. i didnt get ANY accomodation last year from the uni, but im friends with the union president, and one of his big aims is to stop that happening again.

oh, thats another advantage, im personally friends with 2/3 of the sabbatical officers, and know the other one. at bigger uni's most people dont know there sabbs.

if you want big city living, bustling clubs, cinema, theatre, gigs, shops, dont come to lampeter.
if you want a friendly and personal uni atmosphere, want to make loads of friends and are willing to have a good time in our 2 little clubs, then id highly recommend it.

any questions?
