Hi

As a former student at Bradford I went out a fair bit while at uni!
There are some key nights you might want to go out in Bradford, mainly Wednesday nights in town which are all for students and Friday nights at the Student Union for FND (Friday Night Disco has been running for over 30 years!)

A lot of students go out to Leeds on Thursdays and Saturdays and its really cheap to get a taxi back with friends after a good night out. There are also some student nights at some local pubs with live music and Karaoke.

I completely agree with Rachel. Wednesday and Friday nights are the big student nights - Wednesdays are far, far better if you join a sports team as they have big socials and then all go into town together.

Leeds, Wakefield and Halifax are all cheap to travel to if you share a taxi when you want a bigger night out.

A good trick with Leeds is to get the last train there (costing £2-3 each) and then walk to Leeds bus station when you want to leave. You can get a national express coach instead of a taxi and it costs £3.

Nightlife isn't too bad, used to be better than it is now, but certainly not bad by any means. The main clubs are situated a stones throw from the Uni, just down the hill, you don't really need to go into town as they are all clustered together near the Uni/College.

FND also used to be better but there are positive signs that it's changing for the better so should hopefully start getting busier again from 14/15 onwards.

If you're just looking for a drink, Bradford has two Wetherspoons, one of them clustered in with the clubs, and the other just down the hill from them. Delius Lives Next Door is a great pub which is just over the road from Uni, and the Uni bar itself is relatively cheap with plenty of pool tables etc.
