Have a question from pass paper about hibernation of a dormouse
"During hibernation the body temp falls as low as 5C. Explain the advantage of this."
Deep inside I know that this way mouse loses less energy, but how do i say it to get 2 marks?

Id say something like at lower temperatures the mouses metabolic processes will drop so less energy will be required to keep it alive therefore less respiration will need to take place. This will conserve its limited energy resources so that they last over the period of hibernation where it will not be feeding.
