Hi, I would like to start watching anime properly (I've watched a couple episodes of Hetalia, which I need to get into again...) but not that knowledgable on the genre. I like Sci-Fi, fantasy and dystopia, though not a keen fan on Romance and comedy. I would love a really complicated, dark plot as well. So any recommendations?

I only dabble in anime, but Death Note is amazing. By far the best anime series I've seen. It has the complicated dark plot you're looking for, as well.

I don't really watch anime (although I would like to get into it more) but I watched Death Note last summer and I really, really enjoyed it. The plot was very interesting and there were lots of twists, there's about 35 eps or so and each episode is only 20 mins and you'll probably get hooked on it and finish watching it within a week like I did.

For sci-fi related stuff I would recommend Macross Frontier... it's also a mech genre. It's really good

lol you just mentioned you're 300 episodes behind...

the story has progressed so much from then you have no idea so many plot twists, so much suspense...it's great I love his style of writing. Read the manga too and get up to date

It's quality that took over 3 years to make. The 10 mins of resurrection I've watched have won me over.
