Your lucky thats were i wanted 2 stay, im in leadmill, which is right next 2 archways! i think archways looks by far the best accomodation, everyone i know put it down as their first choice.
I dont think it is a unite no, leadmill is but dont worry about all the stuff u read, I was getting really worried but were not gonna b there that much anyway!!!

archways is not a unite property. I looked round there on an open day I went to and put it down as my second choice. It seems pretty secure and is in a great location for the city campus and union. I haven't really heard any bad things about it either.

Archways is one of the good student halls, is not owned by Unite, thank god. After what they did with Exchange Works.

Hi Drendon,

From what I heard of a coursemate who live there last year, they built a drug rehab clinic underneath Exchange works, n most of the work took place during the study period of the Jan exams.

Oh right, I just checked out another thread which had a lot of people complain about Leadmill Point and a link to the article with that story of construction beneath Exchange Works.. I feel somewhat pleased to be going to Charlotte Court but also hoping for others that 06/07 students don't suffer like others at UNITE properties.
Archways is the best its managed by the uni, really safe and brilliant location.

does anyone know anything about the rule for people coming to visit/stay in accommodation (particularly the Archways)?

cos i know some places u just have a key and no one checks whos going in n out, but in others you have to sign people in. is there a limit to how many etc?

cheers!

From what I have heard and my own accomo exchange you can have any number really up to the amount of people you can fit in your room stay, you dont have to sign them in but they cant stay for a long time e.g over 4 days and your meant to tell them. However no one does, as long as they dont stay weeks its ok otherwise they will make the other people pay rent too.

wahay!

thanks for that! wouldnt want to be signing people in and out all the time, sounds like a fair arrangement to me!

cheers
