m&s notice period

does anyone know how much notice you need to give if you're a trainee???
never got a handbook and so i have no idea.

Not certain but I always go with 1 week if temping, 2 weeks if part-time and 1 month if full-time. But if you've not signed anything then down to good will from you and whether you want t stay on good terms wth them :smile:

No, it's one week - I handed mine in about 10 days before I wanted to go, to be safe, because I wasn't sure if you had to obey the "weeks starting on Sunday and ending on Saturday" thing when giving notice.

Unless they've changed the rules within the last fortnight, I promise it's only a week. :biggrin:

I think its a week when your a trainee or have been working there less than 3 months.

If I understand the handbook correctly, if you're "store-administered general staff" (I think that's the phrase they use), it's always a week.

It might be me misunderstanding the handbook. :p:

I was still a Trainee when I gave in my notice so I can't say from experience whether my interpretation of the rules, that all store-administered general staff need to give only a week's notice, is correct.

How old is your handbook? </nosy>
