How does the laundry setup work? - are machines/dryers within the accomodation halls or somewhere else. Also, how much does a wash/dry cost each time? Thanks.
Hi,
i've been allocated a room in lakeside block E groundfloor and i'm wondering how many people will i share the kitchen with and is living on the groundfloor bad like in terms of ease of theft and stuff?

Also wanted to know how many floors the lakeside accommodation has and due to my friend applying through clearing and unable to be allocated accommodation, if they are unable to find suitable accommodation before term starts, are they able to stay within my accommodation until they have found a suitable private off campus accommodation?

Sorry for all the question, I appreciate your help:smile:

Hi,

It's been a number of years since i've set foot in Lakeside, but i believe Lakeside is around 8 floors.

In terms of guests, i believe accommodation policy states you can have up to two guests stay for three days at a time.

Hope that helps

Washing machines are based in the bottom floor of blocks A and B of our ASV accommodation and lakeside accommodation, you'll be able to check their availability using the app too.

It's all handled by a topup card system, you can find more information here:*https://www.circuit.co.uk/

Hope that helps

Hi,

I believe lakeside has seven people per flat, those will be sharing the kitchen with you.

I wouldn't worry about security on the ground floor, the whole of Lakeside is gated accessible only by your student card, any would be thief will have to pass up to three authentication points before they get to what will be a locked room door.

Hi,

Do you hold interviews for shortlisted Optometry applicants?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Usually interviews are held for Optometry applicants who apply through UCAS, but may not be put in place for clearing applicants. Best thing to do is contact [email protected]

Hope that helps

Hi, I originally applied for accommodation at James Watt 7 room accommodation, I was offered a room however I wanted to see if I could change to a 5 room accomodation. How likely is it that I'll be transfered to a 5 room accomodation?
I wanted to ask how attendance is recorded for lectures.
is a register read out or do we tap in with cards?
What was the lowest you allowed for Optometry this year through clearing?

Varies from course to course, sometimes you have a lab with an assessment, attendance is logged via the online assessment.

Lectures don't often have attendance recorded.
Hi
Sorry if this has been asked before but im pre ordering a large parcel (games console). I was wondering whether i would be allowed to have a large parcel delivered to uni and where i would have to collect it. Also what address would i have to use when ordering it
Thanks
Hi

Hi

I feel like I must be being really dense here. Everyone seems to have gotten their accommodation sorted, but when I log into the accommodation page it says all of my applications are still awaiting 'verification'. I don't understand if i have missed some vital part of the application process here? I can't find any way on the site to that would allow me to 'verify' the application, and I thought I had completed the application. So I dont understand why (if it's not something I need to do myself) I haven't been given or denied accommodation.

starting to panic now, someone please respond!

Hi, mine said the same at one point. I think its Aston univeristy who need to do the verifying. I had to wait a couple of days until they offered me accomodation so i believe it's normal. For piece of mind i'd email them!

ASV is reaching the point of being oversubscribed, so unfortunately i would assume that it's unlikely you'll be able to transfer at this point. That being said Aston Student Village is a private company despite sharing our name and branding, the best thing to do is contact them directly at [email protected]

It will depend on your school of study entirely, some have electronic systems and other go with old school pen and paper. In the future we may implement universal attendance monitoring through the app.

It would always be welcomed in the digital marketing office. Most of our accommodation will have a reception area where you can collect post and other deliveries. More information is available from the ASV website:

"Letters are delivered direct to the post boxes in the halls of residence. If you receive a parcel, delivery, you will be notified of its arrival and instructions to collect by email the email address we will use is the HOME ADDRESS email on your online accommodation application. You will be asked to come to The Student Village, Harriet Martineau Building Reception between certain times, normally 11:00 18:00hrs Monday Friday and 11:00-16:00hrs Saturday and Sunday."

As mentioned previously, there is some wait time to be made an offer after applying. If you're still worried email [email protected] directly.
