If they find out I lied...

Bit of an odd situation here - and I know it's not that big a deal, but still... :

My family went out this evening, coming back tomorrow - I tried to organise a sleepover with some girlfriends but as hardly anyone could make it I decided to cancel last minute. But I didn't tell my parents this, as I knew they'd worry about me being home alone for the night (I'm 18 btw, but they're natural worriers  ). So when they phone up they check I'm ok, assuming my friends are all here and we're having a good time - and I feel terrible lying, when I'm actually sitting watching tv by myself. I don't know what to say if they find out I was on my own - I'll say I didn't tell them because I knew they'd worry and I didn't mind being on my own anyways......I just feel bad for lying! Sorry I know this doesn't seem like a big deal...and I'm not even really asking anything I don't think lol.

mine too lol
If you're like me and have an overactive conscience, just tell them that you were by yourself and that you are sorry for lying but you did not want them worrying about you whilst they were out. Then perhaps mention that at 18 you are perfectly capable of spending one night by yourself!!!
Just tell them, you are 18 and capable of looking after yourself and also sleeping in the house alone.
How would they find out. Anyway its no big deal, at 16 years old you can (with parental consent) move out of home and live all alone. Infact at 18 you can legally do so with out consent, so they should not wory.

As testimant to the fact they have nothing to wory about, there is the fact that everything was fine.

I honestly can't believe that this is a real thread.

I say open up and be honest with them. I bet the worst that will happen is that they send you to bed without your bedtime story and glass of warm milk.
