Oh and the police told us that if they continue to harass us they will be given a warning letter and if they threaten us or anything they will automatically be arrested!

But i'm worried that if i tell them that i am being threatened again then i will get into even more trouble and i don't know what to do  ??

wow **** situation. there isnt realy much i can think of that you can do other than be very careful as to where you go and make sure youre not alone.
No i don't happen to own a gun! If i did i wouldn't shoot anyone! lol

Thanks for your help, i have been being careful and i try not to go out alone and mainly stay with my boyfriend because it makes me feel safer! x
Yes be careful and report any harrassement to the police, maybe get an injunction against them coming near you.
These guys aren't gangsters, they just sound like immature kids... do your best to block it out. They realise what they've done is wrong and they're just trying to worm their way out of it. Interfering with and threatening witnesses is a pretty serious crime though... keep the police informed of any escalation of the behaviour.

What gender did the attacking, not implying anything, I'm just interested.

P.S: sorry if i missed where you said
Save any threatening e-mails, texts, whatever, even verbal threats (write down time, date, content) and make sure you report them to your witness support officer who will take any action neccessary. What these former 'friends' did was very wrong, and they need to go down for it- what's more, with this attempted intimidation, they will go down harder, and if it is their friends who are also trying to scare you, they can be put down as well for various charges of witness intimidation, perversion of justice etc. It really is a serious crime, taken seriously by the police.

The ones doing this do however still sound more like idiots who have got scared because they went too far, and don't know how to get out of trouble- it is very unlikely anything will actually happen to you, especially if the police get involved. Something similar occurred to my sister, and the police investigating, and warning the offenders attempting to scare her similarly, put a very quick and permanent end to it. I suggest you do the same; this isn't some kind of incident to try and bury or ignore.

My friend was killed last year in a similar incident to that which you described, some guys attacking another for no apparent reason other than fun- and unluckily, he suffered injuries grievous enough to die soon after. The same could have happened even quite unintentionally in this case, and they need to be prevented from doing the same thing again.

Stand your ground and good luck with it all, for unprovoked assault like this these people deserve what they get. You must help in any way to ensure this, no matter how worried you may be. I wish you all the best.

lmao a letter ooooh terrifying. police couldnt lock up a padlock with an instruction manual.

You squealed on your friends you broke a pretty strict code.

I would suggest though arming yourself in some shape or form just to be sure

To the quoted poster- do you find something amusing because I dont find anything remotely funny about this incident

If you tell them you are being threatened again- this will go against them!
They will be charged even more- which they deserve.

They will have the following against them- GBH/ABH (unprovoked assault), Perversion of the course of justice, followed by other smaller but equally important offences of intimidating witnesses

They will get what is coming to them- thinking they are clever now wont get them anywhere in the courts

They're not that good friends :p: well i used to be really good friends with one of them but the rest aren't that good friends, just say hi you alright etc if i see them. But still, what they all did was wrong... i was involved as a witness, i'm also friends with the guy who got assaulted, what kind of friend would i be to him to let that happen to him and them get away with it and go and do it to somebody else.

I know my first post isn't anon i noticed that afterwards lol oopsie!

Also, to the anonymous poster who said about your friend dying, firsly i'm really sorry to hear that! Secondly, that's an important issue in this... if us 3 weren't there to help him i'm pretty sure he may have had that happen to him! Being hit across the head many times and having a glass bottle smashed in your face can't be good! Especially with all the blood etc! And i don't want them to get away with it thinking it's ok to go and do it again to someone else and they won't be punished, because next time it might be too late!

Thanks for all your posts! Keep them coming x

Friends don't cause trouble in the first place, so its ok for innocent bystanders to be randomly attacked in the street? - idiot.
They ain't friends those who attack any random person for no reason, but she still brave for reporting it.

You dont have to worry about being anon for that...we arent going to threaten you. Lol. Just remember that you are doing the right thing, and tell the police about ever negative communication you recieve from them. They have acted like mindless thugs and now they have to pay the penalty.

:ditto:

you did the right thing just make sure you tell the police if they try to get hold of you in any way and like someone else said save all texts an emails etc they send you.
Am I the only one that thinks it is pretty shocking to go against and grass up your mates?

Were they even your mates or are you making it up?

If they ever were your friends, I'm interested what you're take on friendship is? To stand by someone no matter what? Apparently not in this situation. It's weird how loosely people use the term friendship and love nowadays. People just don't seem to know what it means.

Sounds like you utterly betrayed them regardless of their actions. I for one would never trust you. Harsh but true.

Do you find violence acceptable?

They sounds more like aquaintances, I dearly hope that this never happens to you or one of your friends being attacked in the street and their 'aquaintance or friend' decides not to reveal who they are.
Something similar happened to me but not with any friends involved. The people involved were armed ect so it was not really a joke around kiddie thing. Anyway if they are trying to get you to change your statement they can be done for witness intimidation that can hold a longer sentence than GBH so inform the police what they are doing if it gets to serious. You can also get a restraining order on the people involved. Apart from that only go out with friends that can protect you against what they have.

Hope it goes ok for you.
