Well I really appreciate everyone's advice on here. I don't have a lawyer the CPS is defending my side. I can't talk to my mum about it either it's really depressing for her.

The CPS will have a solicitor handling their case, maybe you can contact them.

Ok best thing to do would be to call victim support 0845 3030900, they are trained to give professional advice and they will offer someone to accompany you to court if you want.

How aobut getting really emotional, and breaking down in tears when you give your version of what happend.

The problem is that, if you have no evidence, then the case will be thrown out. The porn he sent you is on its own worth nothing as evidence.

How about if you are alone with him in a room and put a hiden camera in the room, you can try and get him to say something that you can use as evidence. Note, it has to be video, not just audio since i heard that audio will not standup as evidence in court unless the person knows he is being recorded.

All of the above is VERY BAD ADVICE. As other people have said, be yourself, tell the truth and don't try and manufacture evidence: lawyers aren't stupid and if they see through what you've done which is likely then they will use this to make it look like you aren't trustworthy. Equally your step-father has behaved so horrifically to you that you obviously won't want to ever see him again in order to attempt to obtain this evidence.

I really feel for you, but this really is something that needs to be worked through with a professional. As someone has already said, call victim support, especially since this is clearly so hard to discuss with your family.

Please remember that the police wouldn't have brought the case to court unless they thought there was a good chance that they would get a conviction. This makes me think that you have underestimated the ammount of evidence because you are (understandably) unhappy and nervous about the whole thing. To be frank, it's a waste of money to bring a case which is unlikely to succeed to court.

Although the CPS barrister isn't 'your' lawyer, they will be there to put your side of the case and will probably speak to you beforehand and reassure you. I'm sure it will be very difficult, but they will support you. Also if you're asked a question which makes you upset or uncomfortable, ask if you have to answer it. obviously because of what happened to you, you will be asked personal questions, but if you thinks its not relevant and you don't want to say, then don't.

It must be horrible experience, but there will be lots of people there to help you through it.
