Plus a masters in finance gives you a lot of CFA knowledge, so when you come to the CFA, it's a lot easier.


What will help is going to open days, spring weeks, being active in your uni extracurriculars, and most importantly - doing a vacation scheme in your penultimate year.

Big4 hire based on your personality and potential. If your personality is someone who does a masters degree just to 'stand out' to a prospective employer, this will not impress (and shows a lack of understanding on how work =/= academia). If however, you do a masters degree because you are a genuinely curious individual who seeks to gain a deeper understanding in a certain field (and if this were the case you might be on a scholarship to do a masters) then it becomes a different story (and can be backed up in an interview by providing evidence of high marks/a scholarship).
