Can't answer about the wash basins I'm afraid! But, it's about a 10(ish) minute walk to Jubilee campus. Then from there, there's free buses running to University Park which take about 15 mins.

Took me between 4-5 minutes to walk from Raleigh Park (by the beach bar) to Jubilee Park Business School.

Are you sure?! You must walk pretty fast. You can make it in 5 if you run, but 5mins walking is quite something.

Aye
Still, I can't imagine walking to the business school in 5 mins. Gotta get out of raleigh, over the bridge, half way down triumph road, pass newark/southwell and to the business school. Not without the intention to make it in 5 mins (ie late for a lecture).
Its gonna be so cool to walk only 10-15 minutes to lectures after 2 years of 45 hour ride by train.

Actually, one of my friends was in halls and moved to self-catered. He said that he found the kitchen in raleigh so much more sociable then the stairs in the halls. If you have good flatmates, you'll spend a lot of time sitting around the kitchen talking about random stuff. Great fun!

There are bars on some of the ground floor windows. Pratical but would probably make you feel like your in a prison! Is everyone moving in on the sat or the sunday?

Right what I dont get about iron bars on uni windows is what if there's a fire in the room and you need to get out the window??!

You shouldn't have to get out the window, ours didn't open wide enough to let you out anyway, and also the rooms in the corner at the top of the block and fire escape doors in them to the next block. xx

Yes there are bars on the ground floor windows, but you can open them. Go to the reception and ask for a window key and you will be able to open your bars and the kitchen bars. The windows can also open fully in RP. When you open it, there's a catch that limits how far you can open it. Pull the catch (away from you I think) and the window will open fully. You'll see what I mean when you get there. In sillitoe, there are 2 bathrooms (each with a basin, toilet and shower). The rooms aren't a bad size. Think they're bigger than some of the hall ones. The pictures of sillitoe, on that site, are quite depressing lol. When I got there, it was different in that they gave me a chest of drawers, a deak, overhead shelf and the wardrobe.
