Starting btec level three science

I studied level 2 in high school and going to college this year. I want to know if btec level three science is a good course. Level two was straight forward and I'm still awaiting results. What are people' opinions on this course, is it easy, hard. Everyone is aiming for distinction because many universities won't accept a couple merits and passes. Is there an exam too? Thanks
BTECs don't have any exams; it will all be coursework.
In level two I had to do two exams (one resit)

Those must have been controlled assessments marked and moderated by your teachers, rather than an externally marked exam marked and moderated by the exam board. You can do as many controlled assessments as a teacher lets you, but only one go at an externally marked exam which can only be taken on one specific day.

The new Level 2 BTEC Applied Science course does involve exams - concerning the Level 3 course, I personally think it's fantastic. It covers all the three main sciences (biology, chemistry and physics), but also maths and science within society (also other specialist units depending what applied science course you go for, and what units your college are offering). There are many practicals, meaning it's very hands on - but when it comes to the coursework, there's a lot of it. You will find some parts of the work hard, and other parts easy. It all depends on the person! I also advise you to do the coursework as soon as you get it, as I know many people who have piles of coursework to do and are only on a pass (an E at A-level). So it can be challenging, but it's so worth it! But there is NO exam on this course, just coursework! You're right when it comes to applying for university though, many of the universities want you to have distinctions - so it's up to you really.

I finish the course next year, and will hopefully get a Double Distinction* (D*D*), hope this helps and just message me if you have any other questions,

Good luck! Reighan.

Thank you very much that helped a lot. I guess I'll have to work extra hard these next two years. Is this the only course you're doing at college or are you doing more.

It's alright - and I'm doing the National Diploma in Applied Science (Double one), A-level Sociology, Travel & Tourism and Finance :P
The college I'm going to do the course in has option like option a A-level only and option b Btecs so this is the only course I'll take probably because I signed up for media studies also btec version and I don't think that they'll let me do two Btecs.
