aw I was in A block last year! Sherfields definately the nicest accomodation in Reading, consider yourselves very lucky!

It is so good hearing this from a previous tenant!! Not having seen the Halls makes you stress a bit and await for a bundle of 'surprises', but having feedback like this is so encouraging. Thanx for the info on internet access.
Btw guys i'm also up for hot chocolate...not irish though :smile:

FINALLY got my stuff through.
Now I need to sign all my stuff and send it back.
And they say I'm in an ensuite.
Yet... they've personally told me I'm not.

i have said this before but im sure all rooms at sherfield are en-suite

i was lookign through the downlaodable halls booklet online earlier to see which had best facilities for halls attachment, and im pretty sure it said all sherfield rooms were ensuite.

yeah I know... but the hall told me specifically that I wouldn't be in an ensuite room. I'm in a wheelchair accessible room, so I guessed they had it not ensuite for more room.

Hmmm, copious amounts of postgrads eh?

I'm gonna be in Sherfield and studying an MSc in Environmental Pollution.

The hall sounds pretty good although there's all the usual rubbish in the handbook :p:

Hope everyone's as up for another awesome uni year as I am. How do people already know which block they're in? Do I get stuck with all the 102 year olds? :frown:

Ok I'm in!
Though as my boyfriend's car broke down last week I don't have my computer in halls. So I'm back at my boyfriends for the afternoon/evening to spend time with him and get more things.
So I'll be around this evening and tomorrow.

I'm in block D!
The room is a good size, but the walls could do with a lick of paint!
There was no hot water today or yesterday either so I couldn't have a shower when I wanted one, but they said they'd fix that!

I'll have computer access for this afternoon and should be taking my computer back with me this evening, so... anyone else there?

I'm not a postgrad but I am moving into Sherfield on Sunday - I'm a bit scared I'm going to fill the car with lots of stuff and have twice as much as anyone else.. looking forward to it though :smile:

I'm gonna try and get there earlyish, probably around 11! I am hoping to get a car parking spot as well.

Tell me about it, I can't believe how much crap i've accumulated in my short life! I am going to try and bring it all with me, if it won't fit in my room I guess my parents will have to take it back with them.

Apparently the rooms a quite plush (for student halls), they are one of the most expensive which has got to count for something!

I have few questions to people who stay at Sherfield Hall:
- are the rooms single or shared?
- do all the rooms have en-suite bathrooms or there are some with wash basins only?

I dont live in Sherfield but do a bit of work there...

All the rooms are singles (340 in total) and all are en-suite, with shared kitchens.

hi..i hold an offer letter from univ of reading for msc intelligent buildings.
m an architect from india and have to apply for accomodation in one of the halls...sherfield being the top choice...how tough is it to get accommodation here??
