Mr. Pink
while i know little about piercings, i do know that a nose piercing can be removed for 30 minutes at a time without the risk of serious nasal damage. having said that, would you considering removing the stud in the minutes preceding your interview and replace it soon after, taking the most hygenic of precautions, to avoid unsightly infections flowing from your nose.

i got home an hour ago and i am very very tired, there is no excuse for this post

It's actually a very good point. If the OP is absolutely desperate to get a nose piercing, then I'd suggest you did this right before your interview.

fundamentally
Shouldn't...
But it happens.
I have seen it happen.

Care to elaborate?
thanks you guys for all the advice!

i decided to wait til after my interview so il feel more comfortable and it wont be an issue. ive applied to johns and i would rather not have the risk of getting an interviewer who doesnt like piercings, which may affect my app. Like someone pointed out, its not common, but it can happen...

thanks again!!!
Don't be daft. It makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. most people last year went in suits and were more bothered about what they were wearing and making a good impression than what was coming out of their mouths. I personally stuck my pierced tongue out at my interviewer (cant remember exactly why) and he just laughed at me. There are loads of people with piercings here, some a lot more obvious than others, who didnt take them out for interview. Seriously, dont worry about it!

i honestly don't think it'd make a difference, but ultimately you want to be as calm as possible in your interview, and if you're gonna be self conscious about your piercing, then i think you've made the right decision.
I'm not sure if it would make a diference. But I think the interviewers would naturally form a judgement of you in their minds because of it. It might not be too big a deal and probably wouldn't effect the outcome (bar a very extreme interviewer), but they would notice it and have it on their minds probably.

Well said.
Seriously, it really wouldnt make a difference. Have any of the people who have said not to do it actually here?

Ok i haven't read all the posts....... but if i'm right about the concept of piercings, they can be removed when you don't want them and worn again...
so just don't wear your stud on the day of the interview......seems fairly simple... unless i'm missing something

Can i wear a stud on my tongue or two?????
course you can - i did. didnt make any difference for me. and they saw it *shock horror*

You could get it done, or as suggested wait until afterwards, but I d say it would be better not to wear it to interview. I dont think theres any image that must be met, or any issues of snobbery or racism at all, but it would be safer to avoid anything that might be construed as showing a lack of respect (mohawk, shorts, fake rubber tits etc)
