So Spanish is one of my best subjects, I expected an A, got almost full marks in every single mock we did over the year. And yesterday was extremely shocked and disappointed to have recieved a C overall.
When I did my Oral exam I got marked 40 out of 50 which was the raw mark needed for an A, I was aware it could be moderated up or down by one or two marks but there on my results slip was 27... Now I don't know much but I feel like it wouldn't be moderated 13 marks differently.
I asked around and I think that I'm not the only one in my class to have a much worse grade than expected, has anyone else had this problem? I won't be able to find anything out from school for another week so if anyone has information about it I'd really love to know. Thanks!

Does it count if it's with French? I wasn't doing as well as you throughout the year but the first/second mock I took I got an A in writing, reading and listening and I was borderline A/B and I didn't even revise and now I have a C

I did worse than expected too! I resat it and got a b in the paper, and a b in the oral too! I did loads of past papers and practice essays and was getting full marks/ only dropping a couple of marks in all of them, I really don't understand what has happened! I think maybe it's because the grade boundaries are quite high?

I didn't do Spanish AS but the same happened to me at GCSE (different subjects) - one of my marks went from 58/60 to 46/60. Another from 37/40 to 19/40. The same happened to my friends and the school sent them off to be remarked but the Exam board wouldn't remark them. I don't want to disappoint but I think it could be the exam boards fiddling with grades. It's so annoying/mean/awful and I don't know why they do it - do see if you could get a remark though.

When I checked the grade boundaries after UMS they were ridiculously high, 48/50 for an A
I'm just really confused as to why myself and others in my class' grades went down so dramatically.
