Hi guys, so I recently got my AS results back and in my English Literature unit I got 159 UMS marks which accounted to a B and was one away for A. Even though I didn't get an A in AS. In I get 90% UMS next year is it still possible for me to get an A*???

definitely. You need 90% at A2 and 80% across the 2 years (320 UMS).

So you need 180/200 in the A2 units meaning you will have 339/400 which is an A*

    Hey!

Obviously every subject and every exam board is different, but I had an A* at A-Level in Religous Studies (WJEC), despite having a B in the subject at AS. So it is possible! I had 3 high A's and one C in my exams altogether, which somehow accounted to an A*.

So basically, I'd say you can get an A* at A-Level. If I can then I don't see why you can't!

I'll make it as easier as possible:

    90% UMS in A2 equals an A*. :h:

Yes, it's more than possible! You need to get 80% overall (AS and A2 combined) but 90% in your A2 units. You don't need to get 90% in each unit, however, you could achieve 100% in one unit and 80% in another at A2 and still achieve an A*. I had a B at AS for biology, and worked hard at A2 and managed to achieve an A* after getting 100% in my A2 exams. It's doable and I would certainly recommend it more than retaking your AS modules alongside your A2 exams, as a lot of my friends did this and ended up worse off because of it! Good luck and if you put the work in, you can do it!
