Sex at Uni? 2 questions?

I need to get some sort of operation done before I go to uni but I have two choices. i can either (try) and hope that it gets done in the next few weeks, come home for it and get it done at my local hospital or I can wait until a time when I am home like xmas for example.

Basically, the problem (I say problem but its nothing major) means that I cannot really have unprotected sex and normal sex (with protection) could be a bit of a problem - havent tried lately.

Its nothing major wrong or visual (for those of you who want to be nosey) but I really wondered how much people are likely to have sexual relations at uni.

I mean, i know it doesnt just come to you and I am in no way shy but if i have the operation in the first few weeks I am at uni or something then I may not be able to do much for a couple of weeks - and I don't want to hinder my chances when I could just wait - at the same time i want to get it sorted so i could have unprotected sex or there isnt the akward convo if i meet someone i really like down there.

The second question is that I have to (well really probably need to) tell my parents about this and I am scared as to what they might think - my mum is quiet a devoted christian and I think the thought of her thinking that I am having sex before marriage will disgust her (to some degree). Basically, I dont know if I should just tell her - it would be easier to tell her than my dad? but im not sure.

Are you a bloke or a lady?

Wait, you're having an operation, and your parents don't even know?!

As for the sex at uni thing, if you can't have sex, don't. Its not as if people at uni go around sleeping with everything just because they think they should be.

Is sex at uni really that big a deal? would you want to have sex with someone who didnt accept your problem? Your health and operation is far more important than a quick shag with some fresher. Really.

Why on earth do you want to have unprotected sex anyway?!

agreed. having to go without sex for a few weeks will probably do you good and make you get to know people properly before you jump straight into bed with them =p

good luck with the operation and i hope everything goes ok for you if you tell your parents.

i was only thinking about having unprotected sex if i get a long term gf or something. as for the whole desperate thing - its not a case of me trying to be, i just dont want to be restricted in the first few weeks when i could(?) have it a few weeks after and not miss out lol

well if you can only not have unprotected sex for a couple of weeks, you wont have had time to get in a long term relationship by then.

are you male or female?

I don't get what the issue is. Some people have sex at university. Some people don't. The people who don't are "geeks". It's certainly not worth worrying about...

If you get a long term girlfriend then what's the problem with telling her about it and waiting? Fresher's week isn't just about getting laid, you know.

Reply 16

lol when your going to meet new ppl I would seriously THINK about unprotected sex... it's not as if you've spent your whole life with these ppl and know about their sexual history!

Is this a joke?

Well good thing you was joking about having unprotected sex because if you came back from Uni with an STD then your mother would have definiatly found out one way or another.
