Due to my awful results, I can't apply to university this year and I want to resit some exams alongside a2 exams in may/June. This means I have to apply to uni in 2015 for 2016 entry and after all of my results, I will be forced on a gap year. I don't really know what to do on this forced gap year. Anyone else in my position? I've been thinking about getting a job etc but I'm not sure

Hey, sorry for the late reply; I'm in your position as well. My results were BDE, so it looks like I won't be able to apply this year either. I wanted to apply for Computer Science at Warwick (but I might not be able to now). This gap year thing sucks, because I wasn't planning on taking one either! I've tried looking for part-time jobs in my town since I was 15, but every single one that I applied for rejected me. There's no way I'd be able to get a job during a gap year, and I don't have enough money to travel. I'm ****ed.

Surely you can do what i'm doing (exact same grades as you) and apply for lower unis then if you have exceeded your offers go through adjustment to get a place at a better one, failing that then take your gap year?

What's the point in applying to universities you wouldn't be happy at?

Obviously I meant a Uni they'd be happy with, but perhaps it just won't be the first choice. Sometimes things don't go to plan.
