How to apply for a student loan in August
My nephew has only just decided he indeed does want to go to uni this year and so will apply via UCAS and be entered directly into clearing.
What is the likelihood of securing a student loan in time, should he get onto a course? How might we go about this?

No chance whatsoever.
Just apply now and hope the uni are understanding vis fees and get a student account overdraft to get by until the loan arrives.
