I am 30. I had a single barium enema exam 4 years ago, & was found megadolichocolon in the ascending and transverse colon, mild redundancy in the hepatic flexure and colon spasmodique, my doctor had prescribed me spasmomen tablet for almost 2 years, twice a day. Then he gradually decreased my doses as i became normal and regula plus drug for constipation.
But about one and a half year i get severe stomach cramp only in the upper abdominal area and mild back pain every 5 months. They last 3 days. So, i was taking librax tablet, 2 capsules 3 times per day, but the pain getting so bad I can't sleep at night because I can't lie in a position without feeling severe pains.
can malformations of the colon cause severe stomach cramps?
Thanks in advance.

i don't know anything about malforminations, but it sounds like it could be gallbladder problems. I had my gallbladder taken out a month ago because I had a stone blocking the duct. if you don't know what a gallbladder is, its where the bile that digests food is stored. so when you eat, it contracts slightly to release these. however, if theres blockages or build ups (known as sludge) you will get pain as it has to contract harder. my pain was awful- and like you described I couldn't sleep at night.
is it on the right or left side? if its on your right side it could be gallbladder. your still a little young for gallstones- which are normally in women around forty whove had children. having said that, im an 18 year old so it can happen to anyone.
best of luck getting this sorted. perhaps you've already been tested for this but hopefully this helps a little
