I got CCC this year and was disappointed. I got rejected by my firm and insurance. The best course that i could get in clearing is nottingham trent which i have visisted and seems like a nice place.

However it does have a bad reputation and my parents are extremely upset at me going to this uni. I think i could get better grades if i retook however i am happy to go to this university since it is offering my course which is computer science.

Im just worried about the job prospects and whether going to this uni would be worth the debt.

I got BCC and want to go in to law= not good enough for decent russel group unis and unis that will give me a competitive chance at a career in law. I also need to redo the a levels to get past the a level autofilters= the way I see it is it's a year out now, but it will pay dividends when you are able to have a good job and you won't look bak and think I could have gone to that institution instead.

However I am resitting some of my modules as a pirate external candidate and I look forward to the periods of self study as I prefer that method of learning

Do not go somewhere that you do not feel happy with

Given your results Nottingham Trent is a good option

If you really think that you can do better then stay on to year 14 - but think hard - what will you do differently this year that is going to change your results - if you worked really hard and felt confident then it is difficult to see how you are going to make the difference

I was really lazy this year and saw these results coming tbh. I know i have potential to achieve and my teachers agree. But Trent is very good in regards to my result and retaking might not mean i get a better uni. I would like to go trent but im worried about future job prospects.

Im really stuck.

Will you be different in year 14

Will you be different at university

I am not trying to put you down but it is important that you think seriously about your choices - ensure that you make a choice that you can follow through with

Trent may not be the best university in the world but, in most job situations, a 2:1 or better will guarantee some interest

Hey, if you're really unsure just take a year out and really think about it. Your decision is something that will influence you for the rest of your life so be really clear about it. I was unhappy with my grades last year so i took a year out to resit some exams and did much better in my A levels this year! I chose a different course that i'm really interested in & am going to a much better Uni than last year!

Hope this helps
