I was wondering whether if it is possible to install the computer aided design program onto an acer chromebook. If possible, how difficult would it be?

    Thanks

Unfortunately not. That's one of the limits of Chrome OS - everything has to be done in a browser (yes, I know about various apps, but they're also webapps, just packaged seamlessly to look like proper applications).

That's not going to happen unfortunately. Ideally you want a fairly decent laptop or computer with quite a bit of processing power and RAM.

Alternatively, if you have a desktop with AutoCAD installed then you could look at Remote Computer Access to log into that computer and access it from the Chromebook over the internet. This will be a pain and slower but will let you access work you have at home so you could save it, email it to yourself and then access it on the workstations wherever you're taking the course.

This is exactly what I did whilst at college doing my Computer Aided Engineering part time course
