Hi i just received my results yesterday for as levels achieving 3 A's in Law, Economics and business and a D in Computing, which i am dropping for A2. Despite being thrilled with my results im still worried that the subjects i have taking might be look down on since ive seen many uni's request traditional subjects at A-level.

    Any advice?

The real issue is not that the subjects are not traditional, but that some universities will regard the overlap between economics and business as too great and treat you as if you only have two A levels. Please see LSE's comment under Business Studies.

Many quibbles about subjects only relate to the most selective institutions but this one is likely to be more wildly held. Given that you other AS was so poor, there is little you can do about this now. You just have to make the best of it.

This was however extremely poor, and so doubt self-interested, advice from your school and you should be wary about anything else they advise.
