Hello. I need advice on whether to study chemistry or pharmaceutical chemistry. I want to know the difference in what is involved in the actual course and the difference in terms of job prospective.

    Many thanks in advance

Pharma Chemistry has a major focus on organic chemistry and drug synthesis, while just chemistry studies all the disiplines of chemistry in relatively equal measure( depends on the uni) so Inorganic, organic, physical and analytical.

Prospects wise , i assume it will be easier for the guy with pharma chem to get a job in the pharmacuticals industry, but the guy with just chemistry can also do the same + alot of other career paths e.g materials, Fuels, The energy industry. This ofc depends on what you specialise in.
