hey my sister lives in manchester and i have jus been ova there to visit so i went to fallowfield for a look around.

it looks really studenty! the halls are all close to each other then there are streets full of pubs, take-aways and little shops. Also a few big supermarkets such as Sainsbury and a tesco express thats open late. Its also quite nice looking for jus outside a big city, quite leafy and pretty.. (not that it matters 2 much!)!..

It definitely is the place to be, so much for students to do and i imagine its quite safe due to it mainly being students. Also party central. Every1 i spoke to about accomodation told me to head for Fallowfield. I'm sure we wont be disappointed!

C u all soon!

In my opinion there can't be enough in Fallowfield for you not to be bored over a year.

fallowfield has loads of students, bars, clubs, shops, takeaways, on the doorstep of one of europes busiest bus routes, what more can a student want?

Fallowfield is BRILLIANT for students. Because it's so student orientated. There are all the essential shops and take aways and supermarkets and bars and you are 10 minutes away from a VAST selection of clothes shops and cinemas and clubs.

There is definately a hype and when we all arrive in September it will be brilliant.

Don't forget the halls on the north campus completely.

Weston, Chandos, Lambert, Fairfield etc are all really close to one another so there's quite a student atmosphere. Also, they're right by a whole bunch of bars and about half an hour nearer to the city centre than Fallowfield.

You've also got the old UMIST student union comprising of shop, cheap cafe, shop and Harry's Bar (!!!) within stumbling distance.

I'm thinking I made a mistake selecting Grosvenor over somewhere in Fallowfield :frown:

Nah don't worry about it! Just make friends with people who are on the Fallowfield campus and kip with them! And it's only a bus ride away!

The big Sainsbury's IS about 5 minutes walk from Owens Park/Oak House. Or you can be extra lazy and get the bus. Which gets you there in about a minute.

It's awesome, there's also 2 'scream' pubs, Rabinski's and Queen of Hearts, referred to as 'Tarts' for some reason...
these 2 will be most students' 2nd home -cheap drinks, big screens, pool, table tennis, beer garden, cheesy disco nights etc etc tha list goes on...

to be honest i cant fault fallowfield, people who arent going there consistently pick at the main weakness which is its distance from city centre and uni campus, its 10-25 min, which is not long at all considering there are buses every 5 min or something stupid, to be honest, a lot of the people who are located in the city on other campuses from what i have been told often flock to fallowfield, now correct me if im wrong but that means they travel from their halls, to fallowfield, then back to their halls, then to uni campus, thats much more time on a bus than from fallowfield to centre.

Fallowfield > anywhere else (sorry for non fallowfield residents but its true).

Hehehe. It's sorta true. Fallowfield is on the busiest bus route in Europe. They come about every 2-5 minutes - I joke you not. It's pretty awesome but it's not the only place to go if you want a night out. In fact the city centre is the best for all the clubs (of which there are many).

Never mind. You'll end up making friends with SOMEONE in Fallowfield and vice versa and then everyone gets the best of both campuses.
