What if I'm doing AS computing now and I'm thinking of finishing the a level in yr 12 so is that the one I 'drop' in year 12?

I'm thinking of taking computer science, maths/further maths, physics ... DT Graphics...

Your school will generally let you do up to 4 AS levels in year 12, then drop one so you're doing 3 A2s in year 13. If you have the A2 finished by the end of year 12, then I guess it could count as the one you drop, but if you're going to do 4 AS Levels on top of that then it won't

Those sound like good choices

 isn't that all of us?

By the way does any one know whether taking Maths and Further Maths counts as one subject or two?

They're technically two, but some unis/courses will only consider one e.g. some Medicine courses. However if you're thinking of doing Maths then obviously they would count it as two.

Doesn't every Asian parent want their child to be a doctor? Though I'm being rebellious and going to do engineering but they know so it's alright  Being a doctor would probably just drive me to death... Aerospace engineering  dream job for me

Btw I'm year 11 but I don't come to this thread frequently because of the year 10 thread :indiff: I'm a traitor but whatever

I'm quite lucky that my Asian parents are very, very nice. My dad's a doctor and mum's a teacher, both Asian, but they never ever mind if I do badly on tests or anything. They're always like "Ah well, we know you tried hard...don't worry :h:"

In fact, my Dad tried his level best to put me off becoming a doctor ! But I decided to ignore him and am applying for Medicine this year anyway.

Could you perhaps have a polite word with them about how they're stressing you out a bit? I know it's far easier said than done but it may help?

So the year 11s aren't as crazy as the year 10s?

I'm not saying anything - the Year 12 thread used to be a bit argumentative before, so I praised the Year 10's for being well behaved. Then once I did that, their thread erupted not long after that so I'm not jinxing anything.

I don't even talk on my own thread  We were argumentative in year 11 too sooooo

I'll come here for my fix of sophistication then  although this thread doesn't seem to be as active
