Hi, I'm still a little bit unsure whether to do Further maths as a 4th AS and drop it for A2. The other 3 subjects are Maths, Physics and IT. Seeing as IT has no exams I'm wondering whether doing further maths is worth it and whether I'll even get a good grade in it. Thanks in advance

Depends on how you find maths. Are you good at maths? Do you do well in Maths Challenges? Etc

What do you hope to go on to do after A Levels? IT is a pretty worthless qualification.

Thought so. FM will aid an application for a decent computer science course. IT won't help at all.

Well if you have a natural ability in maths and you like doing maths, I don't see why you can't take further maths considering you're only going to take 4 AS Levels

So the best thing for me is Maths, Further maths and Physics to A2 and IT to AS?
But I'd still like to know how challenging further maths is as I don't really want to do it and end up with a bad grade

At AS it is isn't any harder than single maths - it is just more maths. At A2 it gets harder but not ridiculously hard.

Ok thanks. So just to clarify, Maths, Further maths and Physics to A2 will be the best for me and IT to AS?

Personally from experience I would see how well you can manage with C1/C2 in the first year and if you manage to get 90UMS+ then go for it, because C3/C4/FP1 content would be a lot easier if you have a better understanding in the first 2 core modules. And if you do move on to F.Maths and you're really good at C3/C4 then FP2/3 shouldn't be too difficult

You don't need to make a decision about dropping one for another year. I wouldn't bother with IT at all if you are an academic student.
