    Hiya,
I'm supposed to being doing drama and screen studies at manc in September (currently in the process or trying to switch to straight drama) and I'm kinda concerned its going to be too theory based for me. I'm not looking for an acting course or anything but the uni I was supposed to go to had a 50/50 practical/theory split and that was what I liked about it.(Manchester is my reserve choice and I'm not 100% that I'm going to go yet).
Can anyone give me any more info on this would be much appreciated.

Have you looked at the course units on Manchester's website? I only had a quick glance but it seems to be mostly theory to me, definitely not a 50/50 split.

You'll need to do your own research, but from what I gather it is very much an academic / theory based course :sadnod:

Hi! I'm doing that course, if you look at the course content theres actually a mix of both. From what I've been told it is more theory than performance, but in my interview the tutor said in the second year you have a bit more freedom on what you can do, and more options. Hope i've helped

    First year:
    Compulsory
    Theatre and Performance 1: Texts
    Performance Practices 1
    The Art of Film
    Theatre and Performance 2: Concepts
    Performance Practices 2

Thank you that's really helpful, I don't think they are going to let me switch so it looks like we will be on the same course

I don't actually know yet, I applied on results day because I was sure I was going to Birmingham :/. Hoping I get one of my choices which are Oak House and Canterbury Court. What about you?
