Hi, I was predicted AAAA at As but got ABCD (English Lit, Psychology, History, Economics) as I didn't work hard enough.

Obviously these aren't the best grades but usually my school predicts you a grade higher. So I'll probably be predicted (AAB or A*AB)

I'm planning on doing 2 retakes, and dropping the D.

    In short:
    As levels: ABCD
    GCSEs: 5A* 6A 1B D*
Extra: Gold D of E, Ten tors, Sports

Which 5 unis do you recommend I apply for law with my grades and a prediction of A*AB/AAB?

Leeds? (AAA) York? (AAA) Manchester? (AAA) Edinburgh? (AAA-BBB) Exeter? (AAA-AAB) Cardiff? (AAA-AAB) Southampton? (AAA-AAB) Liverpool? (ABB)

You need to think carefully.Just because your school predicts those grades doesn't mean you'll get them, and it also doesn't mean unis will see them as realistic. You only have 5 choices and don't want all rejections.

Most people apply for 1-2 places that are a stretch - and with your grades, that means you should only be looking at one or two out of the whole list.

I don't mean to be rude, i'm sure there are all sorts of possibilities going through your head right now, but you've posted an almost identical thread asking about history/english combined degrees. And now you are asking about law degree's, is Law something that you are certain you want to go into because it's one of those niche fields like medicine where you need to be certain; I am aware some people do english or history to get into law but my question remains. Also, You really need to put a couple of lower down universities on there, i'm sure if you really work hard and do all sorts of retakes you can get A*AA but at the same time it's going to be a tough haul and you seem imminent that you are still deserving a place at one of the very top universities with sub-standard grades. If I were you i'd select an A*AA an AAA perhaps two AAB universities and then something lower down in the market. Having probably come across very rude and harsh, I don't mean to be a bad guy and I wish you the very best. I'm in a somewhat similar position to you right now but I just feel like you should keep options wide open.

I'm certain on law, English and History was a possibility to then try and get into law.

Yep! Will probably put 2 high, 2 on point and 1 law :')

Note that Edinburgh teaches Scots law, which is unlikely to be of use to you if you want to practise in England or Wales.
