As I got into my insurance not my firm I changed my student finance application today, however they said it could take more than 6 weeks in which case I wouldn't get my student finance on time. What should I do?

I had this issue last year.
I got into my insurance, changed the details online and had a new quote from SF for my new uni about a week later.
I'm sure you'll be fine!

They may just be hedging their bets as they can't predict just how busy they'll be. I'm applying from scratch after getting a place in Clearing and was told it could be achieved in three weeks if all the paperwork is there and straightforward. Of course its been anything but so I'm a little anxious that I'll see my money on time too. But just keep checking and if needs be make an enquiry if you're less than a month away with still no update. Might also be worth checking with your uni what their policy is on late arrival of Tuition Fee funding, they might be cool with it or they might ask for a deposit before they'll let you start. Either way, the uni expects you to cover your own expenses for the first couple of weeks so now's the time to start being uber nice to parents and relatives You could also arrange a student account overdraft and a credit card with a zero rate balance interest for at least a couple of months (then destroy it!) as options if you really get stuck for cash.

I did the same last week and haven't heard anything back from them yet.
The worst part is that I'm not sure that they're giving me the correct amount for tuition and I can't access the Loan Amounts section on the Change Application page to check or change it.

They usually do give you kind of 'the worst case' scenario time estimates...I assume you would get it on time (don't quote me on it ha) because they already have your details and are swapping your Uni choices which shouldn't involve too much sorting.
I have only applied the other month and am set to be getting mine on time (or so they tell me ...)
Keep a look out on the site as that tells you when everything is sorted if not a phonecall to remind them (as they do tend to forget or lose stuff) would be a good idea
Hope you get on well and fingers crossed we all get ours in plenty of time!
