18th birthdays SUCK!. Went out to london but most of my mates were not 18 yet so go rejected from every club on a Saturday night. Ended up in such trashy place that didn't check ID surrounded with skanky 30 year old slags. What a dissapointing night.

On the other hand, 21st is coming up soon!

Yeh, i'm the youngster of the group so everyone got in everywhere. But i wasn't too excited about mine either. At that time, anything that went in usually came back out, as far as alcohol was concerned. All of my mates were saying they were gonna get me smashed, and i really didn't wanna. We went out, and surprizingly they didn't force it. Ok they bought me a few drinks, but nothing too much. We ended up getting a mate of mine really wrecked, it was funny, and he enjoyed it too. He can handle his drink. We had college the next day, and i was hungover, haha. My mate who we got smashed went to college still drunk and throughout the day got a hangover. Anyway, enjoy your day/night. I know it doesn't seem too great thinking about it, but it'll probably turn out really good.

Don't then. I can't stand it personally. Like to know when I'm having a good time, instead of having to guess from the headache the next morning.

I wasn't really excited about my 18th birthday. Might have had something to do with it being during exams, but generally the older I got, the less I was looking forward to each birthday. I was also a bit fed up of people going on about how I should be really excited and go for a massive drink-fest. In the end I just went out for a simple meal with some family which I did enjoy. So bottom line is it's your 18th birthday so only make what you want of it, not what your friends want, who obviously want an excuse to go out and get smashed.

Most people make a fuss about it but for some reason i was not lookin forward to my 18th. In the end i went out for a meal & some drinks with my friends.

Reply 11

yeah 18ths aren't that great. I had a few meals with mates/family for mine but it wasn't an all night extravagent rave. Its normal.

Very overrated. Either have a huge blow out party or do what I did and do something small, but nice with close friends, like a few drinks, then a meal, then a few more drinks. I enjoyed that much more than I think I would a huge party...

I was on a plane to Singapore. I got free champagne.

Milk it for all it's worth.

Reply 14

OP: Yes tis normal

Reply 15

aww you're only 18 once, i think it's worth getting excited about!

Reply 16

Also 18 is a age you'll remember all your life - so live it large aiiiight!

Reply 17

Youll remember your 18th all your life so make it a good one.
I cant wait for my 18th..were going to go manchester or london for something different.

Reply 18

I don't think being unexcited about turning 18 is abnormal. I really didn't care about my birthday this year much [possibly because I had a prelim the next day...]. Just don't get depressed and upset about not feeling completely overjoyed by it all

I didn't do anyhting for my 18th, my parents wanted a party at some pub but I can't stand those cheesey parties - crap music, inviting people you don't particularly like - just not my thing.
