    I'm starting a 4 year MMath degree in September. Will I need to buy a graphing calculator immediately, or can this wait?

    If your degree is anything like mine, you will never need or use one!

    I would wait until you start to find out if you even need one. A lot of maths degrees are non calculator all together.

    Almost certainly not. You probably won't even use a scientific calculator much.

    You'll probably never need one, wolfram alpha is a worthy replacement for any situation that might arise, and doesn't cost a million quid like those fancy calculators do
