Baddock Hall or Hiatt Baker?

As an "Insurance student", the time has finally come for me to tell Bristol which accommodation I'd prefer. The only options really left are Baddock, Hiatt Baker, and student houses. I don't want to be in a student house, so basically, can anyone tell me which of the first two are better, in terms of location (I'll be reading Law), social life, quality of the accommodation, food, aesthetics, etc etc.

Thanks

Well I will put it this way, if you go for Hiatt Baker there's a chance you will be on a floor with me.

I'll leave you to mull that one over.

Haha, right, well that's obviously decided it for me
On a more serious note, you went to Reading Festival? That is quite wicked. So did I. It was quite brilliant!

Yes I did, and for the first time the whole 3 days rather underwhelmed me.

It was still good of course...who you see?

Friday: P!ATD, Fall Out Boy, Dashboard, Dizzee Rascal, Saturday & Sunday blended into one: Muse, Coheed, The Cribs, Dirty Pretty Things, Be Your Own Pet, Dresden Dolls, and then! Boy Kill Boy, The Rakes, (The Kooks), and Maximo Park. How about you? I missed the Guillemots which is quite disappointing.

I saw...Dizzee Rascal, Muse, Spank Rock, Sway, Hundred Reasons, The Streets, Feeder, Lethal Bizzle, ****disco, Panic! At The Disco, Arctic Monkeys, The Automatic, 2 Many DJs, Placebo, Soulwax...possibly a couple others I forgot.

The best for me were Hundred Reasons, Lethal Bizzle, The Streets, Dizzee Rascal and Feeder.

Annoyed I missed C&C for the bloody Arctic Monkeys, who I found to be jaw-droppingly dull.

Go for Badock. I'm going there, and there doesn't appear to be anyone else on this forum who is joining me.

Apart from you!

Seriously though, it wasn't my first choice, but IMO it looks slightly nicer than Hiatt Baker. Although in reality I doubt there's any different once we get there. Badock has the better bar, apparently.

Arghh when did you hear from the accomodation people and via what medium? It is so worrying when I haven't heard anything yet:redface:

What did they send you? Just a list of what was left?

Thanks

i think you may aswell pick one out of a hat. They are very similar halls, location is about the same. Which one is "best" comes down the bias of who you talk too. The only things thats pretty much accepted is that hiatt baker's food is better and badock has the best bar in SB.

Awww, I'm going to Badock! We can make a club with just us in it  I have a feeling we are going to be super-coolest come October, I'll leave you to think of a BRILLIANT NAME for our new organisation, but I can make badges :p:

Ah, quality. At least I'll know someone from here...someone I've met, as well!

Let's be despicably chummy, make everyone else jealous of how cool we are :P
The only thing my thesaurus has turned up as a synonym of 'club' beginning with 'b' is 'band' so we could be Badock Band but that sounds a bit rubbish to me. How about TEAM BADOCK!! instead (with the 2 exclamation marks )

It still just sounds like "B*llocks" to me. I'm too afraid to start a club on here, there's about a million people going to Wills and Goldney...

OMG it DOES sound like 'B*llocks' And maybe the club wouldn't be a good idea, we could always hide it under the umbrella of a fanclub of brutal 60s architecture?

I think you can judge a hall by it's name. Wills sounds quite posh, as does Clifton Hill House. Churchill...hmm, in-between. Hiatt Baker and Badock sound crappy.

Ah well. We'll have a ball! We've got the best bar, that's all that matters in the first year anyway...

what about Durdham Hall and University Hall?
Reply 18
Ah I dunno. I was just thinking about the catered ones, as they're the only ones I considered...

i think durdham is a little close to 'durham' < bristols main rival

university hall lacks flair coz its the only one without a stupid name, its my seconds choice but i really wana go to a hall with a stupid name now
