    Hey,

I'm a 19 male and I'm really getting into this whole cycling business. My only problem is that the only person I have to do it with is my dad. I want to find some more people to cycle with but my age (or abouts). The local cycling club is full of middle aged men (my dad goes), and I find holding conversation with them kinda hard.

Any advice? Is there a young cycles society?

Surely there must be a few younger people at your local club? At mine its mainly middle aged men but there are a few that are closer to my age. Are there any other clubs near you? Got any friends that might like to start?
Surely you could go out on your own?

Yes and no. There are younger people, but by younger I'm talking like 10 - 15yrs old.
The next nearest club to me is about 40 miles away, which makes it kinda difficult.
my friends are boring lazy sods lol.
I do go out on my own, but I enjoy company!

I have the same problem where I live (outside of the UK) - not enough cycling friends around and all the cycling clubs are either too serious or too middle-aged.

However, I've found a few online forums where people organise meet-ups (many of them have Strava profiles so you can see the kind of routes and paces they go at). It might be worth seeing if there's anyone in your area on one of these forums...
