Everyone must be growing weary of this type of question so I apologise in advance but every situation differs slightly, hence the crazy influx, so here goes.

I somewhat underperformed at AS Level (I'll give my current academic record) and am wondering if it is still feasible for me to succeed with an application to Oxford to read Chemistry.

    GCSEs: 10 A*s

    AS Levels: 3 As and a B
(As in Chemistry, Physics and Mathemtics with an AS in Further Mathematics pending, B in Spanish)

Predictions: Will be at least A*AA but still pending

Experience: Assisting with Lower School Science Club
Working for 3 weeks in a lab for a baking powder company
(doing a range of experiments and trying to perfect a faster method for measuring ROR)

Basically I'm asking whether the B in Spanish has seriously diminished my chances of being a successful applicant. My main worry is that for Chemistry there could be a larger emphasis on AS results as there is currently no aptitude test. (This obviously excludes my potential performance in any interviews)

Thanks so much for your help!

It shouldnt do if you're not taking spanish at A2 but there is also no harm in resitting it, they won't care if you resit it

It won't be an issue. There's no test, but nearly everyone's interviewed!

    Those grades are fine

The interview will be the most important part of the process for you!

Chemistry interviews 95% of applicants. And you have lab experience you can talk about. As long as your predicitions are good and you can talk about chemistry, give it a shot. Languages are less important.
