I have a friend who has invited me to do go on day trips with him on his own. The majority of our friends think he is besotted with me and they think something is going on between us. I do not fancy this friend at all. He has tried to get me to go away with him on his own and gave me a dirty look when I declined as I said I can't get the time off work.
He asked if there was anyone I liked and when I told him about this guy he looked at him in a jealous way and said he is nothing. All of my friends said he must be jealous of the guy I like as they agree that he is good looking. This guy I like, I think he has heard these rumours and has distanced himself from me. I feel really upset as this so called friend is going out of his way to jeopardise my potential partners. What should I do?

If there is someone in my life who no longer brings value to it, then I generally stop talking to them. I might even go so far as to delete them off facebook.

Why are you friends with this guy?

Talk to the guy you like and let him know that what he's heard is only a rumour. If your so-called friend really liked you, he'd want you to be happy and so wouldn't jeopardise your chances with the person you like. Sounds like you need to distance yourself from this guy.

lol, responses so far show why [most] friends of the opposite sex are close to worthless. They value the friendship like dat and always find a way to think you want them.
