http://www.adm.utoronto.ca/adm/adm_intl_req/adm_international_requirements.htm#BPE is Toronto's guidelines for British Patterend Education, which should help give you an idea for all the unis. Though it's a bit unclear to me, so I hope you can garner something from it!

McGill's undergrad requirement page isn't working right now, and the Western page (http://www.welcome.uwo.ca/en/secondlevel/international/admission.html#requirements) says this:

United Kingdom (UK): The General Certificate of Secondary Education and the (UK examining boards), The Cambridge Commonwealth Overseas and Higher School Certificates. Applicants must offer passes in five subjects, of which two must be Advanced or Principal level, or in four subjects, of which three must be at the Advanced or Principal level. Two Advanced Supplementary (AS) levels may be substituted for one Advanced or Principal level except for prerequisite subjects.

Hope that helps?

Oh, and I'll add that I doubt you need particularly high grades to be admitted. It seems that a lot of British students are able to skip first year with high grades, so if you're looking to do all four years and have decent grades I don't think you'll have a problem.

Hey thanks for the reply. I read that to, and found it really confusing, thus I mada a new post here. Thanks though, its the thought which matters.

Does anyone else have any personal experience? Which grades are needed? My subjects are Mathematics (to AS), Business Studies, Economics and Accounting. If I get B's will I be ok?

Reply 4

McGill says BBC as a minmum. With good grades (ABB or above), u may get advance credit as well.

Reply 5

Applicants are required to present acceptable standing in at least five different subjects including four subjects at Advanced Subsidiary Level or three at Advanced Level (two for admission to the Faculties of Music and Physical Education and Health/Kinesiology).

On the first link it says that, am i reading it wrong or is it saying that you only need 5 AS? not a levels? sorry im slighty tired

Reply 6

Its 4 AS(four subjects at Advanced Subsidiary) , pls correct me if I am wrong.

Reply 7

By the way from which site did u get these details.

If possible, I think I'd just recommend finding someone at the unis to phone/email. When applying to universities in other countries, I've found it's really the only way to find any information regarding your particular qualifications. One thing seems to be universal: university sites are confusing and unnecessarily vague!

I did call them, like atleast 4 times, the lady who answered dint have a cue abnout 'A' levels, and the international admissions was not available.

Reply 10

Hey i got that information off of the first link that satyricon gave. Yeah it says 4 at AS level OR 3 at a level, but it also said atleast 5 subjects so yeah i wasn't sure what that meant and if that meant you didnt have to do AS.

Why don't you email them? it may be more likely to go to someone in the know?

Reply 11

You need to have studied FIVE SUBJECTS in your entire school career, i.e. including GCSEs

You also need FOUR AS or THREE FULL A LEVELS

Not that difficult.

I was looking at UoT for Engineering Science, and it mentioned they want Chemistry (which I haven't done). :frown:

I've emailed them to double check it's specific for that course so just waiting for a reply. Can anyone fill me in on this?

Hey, does anyone know the 'A' level grades needed for the top Canadian universities? I am hoping to apply to U of T, Western (Ivey) and McGill for business (called commerce or BBA). What are the grades I need?

Thanks and hope someone can answer this question.

Take a look at UBC as well... Vancouver is an amazing city to live in, ocean, mountains, great student life and an excellent university for business studies.

Where did you get this info? Also, do Canadian unis accept predicted A level grades and then give you conditional offers?

Reply 16

Canadian universities don't give "conditional" offers like UK uni's
You submit an application, and you're either accepted or rejected based on the marks that you've submitted, not predicted marks like in the UK

Once i dug up the entire McGill website to get the info....i remember it quite vividly, but i dont have the exact link right now....

As for the conditional offers, I am not conformed on that matter.

Reply 18

Canadian unis never give conditional offers. Our education system is awful, so I doubt you'd need terribly high grades.

Dont go to Mcgill, btw. They suck:p: :p:

I can't believe it costs £75 to apply! That's insane.
